Responsible for

3 FTE (2 Rural Surveyors/Land Agents and 1 Technical Officer)

The County Farms Manager is accountable for the management and development of the County Farms Estate to support the rural economy, delivery of public services and contribute to financial efficiency.

As well as keeping under review the estates strategy and management policies, the CFM is responsible for preparing the Business Plan for the County Farms Estate and report performance to Committee.

The post holder will work closely with Members on policy development and decision making in relation to investments, acquisitions, disposal and ongoing future priorities.

With responsibility for directly managing the vast rural estate with over 140 tenancies, this role has responsibility for leading a high performing team of estates surveyors and developing strong customer care and rural estate management that is best practice.

Other Job Information (e.g. any special factors or constraints)

The role involves a degree of traveling around the Estate together with working outside the normal offices hours and communication with a wide group of stakeholders both internally and externally. Must have access to a vehicle and hold a current valid driving licence.

For farm tenants, the County Farms offers an increasingly rare opportunity to follow a career in farming and these family-run farms on the Estate add to the diversity of rural communities in Norfolk as well as supporting the local economy.


•Degree level education
•Chartered Surveyor with significant at least five years post qualification experience.
•Diploma, degree or other recognised qualification in management
